Babies and cupcakes, oh my!

This weekend I ventured back to my home town for all sorts of local fun. A good friend of mine turned 30, to celebrate my sister and I baked her some tie-dye cupcakes! They are super easy and fun to make.. we are new to the baking world so interesting yet beginner friendly recipes are perfect for us!

Nothing says turning 30 like bright colour sprinkles and frosting! 

Sunday my friend Lisa stopped by, I'm always super excited for her visits & to see her adorable son Clark! My sister's little guy and Clark have become pals it's so cute to see them run around together.

Makes me want to babysit these two guys.

Hooray for bridesmaids!

They all said yes to being a part of my big day! It seems a little silly to stress about asking friends to be in my  wedding, but to be honest I was a little nervous. Maybe it was the fear of rejection or maybe I was afraid it would be an inconvenience. It may sound strange but it's the little things that stress me out.

So I told all the girls one by one and everyone seemed really excited, a big relief and happy news for me!
Although everyone is spread out from a few mins away, a few hours away and even as far as Texas.. we will be keeping touch through our newly started skype nights and hangouts when we can.

These girls mean the world to me, needless to say I am so happy and counting down the days until summer of 2012! :)

International Women's day

To celebrate International Women's day I wanted to post about a certain lady who always inspires me.
My sister gives me so much inspiration on a daily basis, she inspires me to be a good, kind person who looks at the positive even when you just want to give up. Without her encouragement and constant support I would not be the person I am today.
She is also one styling momma who is full of creativity and just the best mom!

We flew out early Sunday morning with no sleep what so ever, I nervously boarded the plan as flying makes me anxious.  My guy on the other hand is in a plane almost once a week so he distracted me with a game of Monopoly on my iphone.. I won!

We spent the day on a catamaran, went snorkeling in the middle of the ocean, got to stroll along an uninhabited island, had lobster lunch and hung out with dolphins.  Is there any better way to spend a day?

The best part, my engagement! I guess I should have seen it coming, but I had no idea at all! He suggested to go for a stroll along the beach after dinner, since we hadn't checked out the beach at night I thought nothing of it. We grabbed a bottle of wine and took a lovely walk down to the shore. Once we arrived at the beach we were surprised to be the only people there, he started talking about how happy he was in our relationship and how we are in a great place in our lives.. I agreed. Next thing I knew he was down on one knee, it took me a second to actually realize what was happening. He pulled out a ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him. I feel like I must of said yes a million time, but half of it could of just been in my mind. I started to cry happy tears, then we spent a hour hanging out on the sand, talking and watching the waves. 

It was perfect.

Just the best week ever.
