Trying to find a venue has proved to be a little exhausting, after spending many hours searching online I've found a few potential places.  The tricky part will be finding the time to view them as many of the locations are 2 -3 hours away.  If I could have it my way I would find a place that incorporates the following...

The venue hunt will make for some fun road trips, wish us luck!

hikes & venue hunting

Kind of late for  a weekend posts, but man have I been tired. Just when I was celebrating the end of evil morning (a.k.a all day) sickness it comes back with a vengeances! I'm still hopeful this trimester will be better than the last. Fingers crossed!

This Saturday we went on our first wedding venue hunt. My sister & brother in law came along as well,  although we didn't find the location of our dreams it was such a beautiful day for a hike as the location was nestled in the middle of a trail.

I just love the spring xo!

The future reminds us of the past..

My grandmother on her wedding day. The photo stuck in an old paper frame has been attached since the year of their wedding. (it wasn't coming off)
This picture is of my grandma Joyce, looking back she has inspired me in so many ways. This lady was a master at crafts, sewing, knitting/crocheting, painting, playing the piano & could bake up a storm. So much of me wishes I could ask her a million question about her own big day. I'm sure she would have been more than happy to help me with any wedding DIY projects. One day soon I will make a post dedicated to her work. Right now during these busy times it's nice to stop and reflect on the people from our past, especially those who made such an impact.

Happy Birthday Darling!

My hubby to be turned 30 this weekend! Sadly, I don't have any pictures to show for it, thanks to my somehow erased memory card. We collectively sang in his birthday at XO karaoke , the bar has individual karaoke rooms... so much fun!

His Birthday reminds me that in six short months (to the day) I will be turning 30..eek! It doesn't seem so bad since I will be getting older with the best guy ever. I can't wait to get old and crazy with him! XOXO

Lego, Antiques & A Move

Between my sister and I we have successfully moved at least once a year since we were 19. After almost 11 years of moving one would think we could open up our own moving company, but every year one of us goes through the same thoughts / process...
-the initial packing laziness or "packer slacker" as we call it
-the "where am I gonna get enough boxes from" followed by the liquor store / cheap grocery store box hunt.
-The statement " next time we are just going to hire movers" (yet we never do)
-The one misc box that turns into 3 misc boxes and at least 4 random last minute bags
-The promise to our friends that never comes true... "this will be the last move in 5 years I swear"

This time it was my sister, her husband and my nephew who moved into a cute apartment in Waterloo, although it's still a hour drive from my house I'm happy they're settling down somewhere they can call their own. Saturday was the official moving day, my job was to watch my nephew and make sure he didn't get in the way. Trying to stop a 18 month old boy from getting into everything was quite a challenge, for future moves I think a day trip to the zoo or grandparents will be in order.

The next day we woke up at my sisters place surrounded by walls of boxes, and furniture so we did what any helpful mover would do and decided to check out the town.
We had heard of a really great farmer's market called St. Jacobs, sadly it still too early in the year for them to be open. Instead we checked out their antique flea market and Lego land...

Can't wait to go back once they're all settled in!
